Brasserie in Venlo

A favourite spot in ’t stedje van lol en plezeer, the town of fun and pleasure

On the Jodenstraat, one of the nicest little streets in the heart of Venlo, you’ll find Brasserie Basiliek. Chantal van Hoorn opened her doors here on 1 July 2019, and Basiliek has since become the go-to place for anyone who loves good company and good food.

Drop in whenever you like

That’s the nice thing about a brasserie: you don’t have to choose between a café and a restaurant. You come in for a coffee, stay for lunch and call your partner in the afternoon to join you for dinner. The menu mixes Dutch classics with dishes that have an international twist.

Bar, conservatory and courtyard garden

At the bar you can have craft beer on tap or a glass of wine. The conservatory gets lots of daylight and is great for groups. When the weather’s nice, you can sit outside in the courtyard garden.

Chantal is almost always here in person. “I want people to really feel at home here,” she says. You’ll notice it in the way you’re welcomed.
