Dinner at Basiliek

Dinner with Chantal and her team

Chantal van Hoorn was born and raised in Venlo and opened Brasserie Basiliek in 2019. She’s almost always here herself. You’re greeted at the door, shown to your table and waved off when you leave.

Fish, meat or vegetarian

Start with beef carpaccio with an Asian-style salad, tomato tartare or half a dozen oysters. For your main, choose fish like hot-smoked salmon or sole with beurre blanc, meat like the Basiliek vleesplank (our mixed meat board), reef and beef or rack of lamb, or go vegetarian with the stuffed portobello with goat’s cheese and pearl barley.

The house classics

Some dishes just belong at Basiliek. Like satay and ribs for the undecided, the beef tenderloin tournedos with pepper or béarnaise sauce, and the whole pan-fried lobster provençale. All mains come with fries and mayonnaise.

Dessert or cheese

Round off your dinner with our Dame blanche Basiliek (vanilla ice cream with warm chocolate sauce), a peanut butter parfait, a raspberry tart or a cheese board from Tebben with sourdough fruit bread. Or have a coffee or fresh mint tea with friandises.
